Burton Rugby Club’s Call For Female Warriors
Burton Rugby Club has been chosen as a regional host for the English RFU’s Inner Warrior programme, a national initiative to get more girls and ladies involved in Rugby. The club’s ‘Inner Warrior’ Camps are designed to be a fun-packed, commitment-free way for girls to get outside, get muddy and experience the dynamic, exhilarating sport of rugby for the first time.
Girls teams Manager, Richard Williams, said, ‘With more than 18,000 girls and women regularly playing rugby in England the game has never been more popular. Many people are surprised to find out that Burton is a hotbed of women’s rugby as we are home to one of the Midland’s most popular clubs for girls. So on the 24th and 25th January were inviting girls & ladies from 11-35 to come down and give this increasingly popular sport a go.’
Welcoming, Helpful & Fun
There will be plenty of friendly faces and trained coaches to help girls that want to try rugby for the very first time, or who play in school but fancy trying the club game. Participants will be introduced to the basics of the game – passing, kicking and tackling, coupled with enjoyable fitness routines. Then, anyone who enjoys the free trail can go on to join over 100 girls who already play rugby at Burton.
So if you’re female, aged 11-18 or 18-35 you’re invited to come to one of the two free evening events at Shobnall leisure Complex, step out of your comfort zone and unearth your Inner Warrior.
