Learn how to Run a Faster 10K

london-marathon-2017

Are you feeling inspired with Yesterday’s London Marathon then the following might be of interest of how to become a faster runner.

England Athletics, Castle Coaching Fitness and East Staffordshire Borough Council are working in Partnership to deliver an improvers running course supporting runners to run a faster 10K. The five week course is open to anyone aged 16+ who is able to run 10K and would like to improve their time.

The group will meet every Thursday at 18:30 at Shobnall Leisure Complex, Shobnall road, Burton upon Trent, DE14 2BB. The course runs from Thursday 4th May to Thursday 1st June inclusive and each track session will cost £2.35.

Delivered by level 4 endurance coach Chris Hollinshead, the course will involve a variety of training methods, including interval training and sustained pace running. The aim is to improve speed while also providing ideas for runners and run leaders to incorporate into their training.

This course is a great opportunity for runners and tri athletes to undertake a block of training that will focus on improving their 10k pace through different methods of training.
The course will also provide run leaders with the opportunity to take part in sessions as runners and will give them the opportunity to learn new training methods and techniques they can use within their own running groups.

For more information or an application form, please contact Patricia Newman, East Staffordshire Borough Council on 01283 508191 or email patricia.newman@eaststaffsbc.gov.uk. You can also contact Chris Hollinshead directly on Chrishollinshead12@gmail.com or on 07399294089.
